The reasons for taking on this role as Executive Pastoral Assistant at Seven Mile Road are four-fold:
Love the Church: The Church is the agent God has established to bring about redemption through Christ into this world. This role will play a part in the big picture of what God is doing in all the world.
Love the City: There are more than 3,500,000 ungospeled, unchurched souls in greater Boston. There are not nearly enough healthy, gospel-centered churches existing to engage and disciple these souls. Seven Mile Road is uniquely situated to play a helpful role in planting these churches. This role will play a part in the big picture of what God is doing in the greater Boston area.
Explore Pastoral Possiblities: As the number of healthy, Gospel-centered churches are birthed in the next ten years, there will be a need for more Pastors to use their varied gifts to edify the church. This role will play a part in the big picture of what God is doing in His Pastors whom He has called.
Steward and Develop Character and Gifts: This role provides an avenue to use the gifts God has given me well and to humbly and quietly love the church in ways that will build my character. This role will play a part in the big picture of what God is doing in me whom he has called.
“Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” -Matthew 28:18-20
