Hard work must go into soil for it to yield a great harvest. One must till, plant seeds and water the soil. This picture is helpful in understanding the work I do and the work done in me in the next two years.
In this season of my life I am a tool which God uses to till, plant and water the soil. I will invest my time, energy and resources into the church and the community primarily through the role of Executive Pastoral Assistant at Seven Mile Road. It will be a means to serve God and his church! My hope is that God will give growth in the hearts of those I serve. What a great privilege to be a part of this great work!
Conversely, I am also the soil. By loving the church in unseen ways, receiving mentorship and discipleship from pastors and brothers I love and trust, my heart will be tilled, planted and watered with a deep hope that God will give real tangible growth in preparation for a lifetime of faithful and fruitful pastoral ministry.
During this two year journey, my hope is that this site will do the following:
Inform and Update: I have been blessed with friends and family who deeply care about me, my call and my place in God’s Kingdom work. My hope is that those who support and partner with me spiritually and financially can walk this journey with me. On this site, you will find:
- Prayer requests: I am and always will be in need of prayer. I will post specific requests here.
- General Updates: Every lesson God chooses to teach me will be chronicled here.
- Financial Updates: Periodic updates of how much I’ve raised and how much more I need will be posted.
- Active Engagement: This will be a place of dialogue and communication.
- Resources: Helpful articles, blog posts, books and other forms of media will be posted to serve you.
Fundraise: The work I do the next two years is only possible by the grace of God manifested in the prayers and financial contributions of others. I am raising my own support for this work. The goal is raise $80,000 for 24 months of work. This is where you can provide financial support to me, my church and its mission! Please consider giving here.
Encourage: Jesus promises to build his church. This is his promise. Be blessed and encouraged “towards love and good works” in your particular context as you read the ways in which God is building His Church in the greater Boston area. My hope is that this site will be an agent of encouragement in your own missional living!
“What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field..” -1 Corinthians 3:5-9
